The Cabinet approved the Strengthening Teaching-Learning And Results for States (STARS) project under National Education Policy (NEP) on Wednesday. The total cost of the project is ₹ 5718 crore with the support of the World Bank (US $500 million). The project is aligned with the objectives of NEP 2020 of Quality-Based Learning Outcomes and covers six states: Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. According to PM Narendra Modi Ji, this project will “strengthen the efforts to transform the education sector and improve quality of learning.”

World Student Day is celebrated every year on October 15. The day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, also known as ” The Missile Man of India.” He was the 11th President of India and an aerospace scientist. He received many prestigious awards, including the Bharat Ratna, India’s Highest Civilian Honor. His autobiography “Wings of Fire ” was published in 1999 and was written by him and Arun Tiwari.
International Day of Rural Women
15 October is also observed as the International Day of Rural Women and initially started in the year 2008. The theme of the International Day of Rural Women 2020 is “Building rural women’s resilience in the wake of COVID -19.” It is “to create awareness of these women’s struggles, their needs, and their critical and key role in our society,” according to the United Nations.
