Khaali Peeli review: Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey starrer Khaali Peeli released this friday on ZeePlex and Zee5. Both of them are riding high after their previous hit on the box office. But will they be able to continue their winning strike with this Maqbool Khan directorial? Lets find out.
Director: Maqbool Khan
Producer: Ali Abbas Zafar
Himanshu Kishan Mehra
Cast: Ishan Khatter
Two childhood friends Blackie (Ishaan Khatter) and Pooja (Ananya Pandey) reunite after a long period of time under different circumstances. Blackie, a taxi driver, is in a troublesome situation after he injured one of his fellow taxi driver. On the other hand , after ditching her marriage, Pooja is running away with a bag full of cash and gold. Blackie encountered Pooja when she was being chased by the goons of a local don, Yusuf (Jaideep Ahlawat). And then the actual game of cat and mouse begin.
Director Maqbool Khan successfully accomplish the task of executing an average story written by Yash Kesarwani and Sima Agarwal in a full filmy manner. Dialogues of the movie are crisp and the screenplay is good. It doesn’t lag which is a plus point. The film’s music is composed by Vishal – Shekhar, which is decent. After being badly trolled for the song ‘ Beyonce Sharma Jayegi’, makers changed its name to ‘ Duniya Sharma Jayegi’ but that doesn’t help much.
Ishaan Khatter emerges as a strong actor after his debutorial film, Dhadak. He is natural throughout the film. After Pati Patni or Woh, Ananya Pandey is back but this time in a full tapori style. She is good but can be better especially in action sequences. Both of them look good together. Pataal Lok fame Jaideep Ahlawat shines as an antagonist.
Rating: With a runtime of 1 hr. and 53 min, this fully Bollywood masala movie will not disappoint you and will give you a cheeky smile in the end.
